Sport in cinema

There is a wide variety of films about sport, from documentaries to fiction. Sports documentaries can focus on a particular sport or on individual athletes, while fiction films can tell fictional stories or be inspired by real-life sporting events.

Sports films are not limited to traditional sports, as there are also films about lesser-known sporting activities, such as skateboarding, surfing or climbing. Extreme sports films are also popular.
